My DIY: Sleevless Draped Cardigan

Hello!

Don't worry! I haven't left again! I just was helping out with a local production of Willy Wonka, and their shows were this week (shout out to the Willy Wonka cast and crew, thank you so much for letting me be a part of your play this year! And remember to "think positive!"! Open-mouth smile). So, if you're a subscriber on my YouTube channel (MlleImagination, hintedy-hint, hint Winking smile), you would've seen that I just uploaded a tutorial about how to make a sleeveless cardigan in French. I was really just trying to explore my French skills, and since I thought this DIY was really cool, I did a French tutorial about it. Then I realized that my readers that don't speak French should get a chance to do the project too, so here's the English version.

How to Make A Sleeveless Draped Cardigan

First, take a large rectangular piece of fabric and fold it in half vertically. Then pin along the top of the fabric.

TIFF: Next Wave Film Festival

Hey!

I know I haven't been very consistent lately and am really going to try harder to become more consistent with my posts. Of course my mom's birthday and mother's day are during the same week, so I've been with her and going to TIFF and the rest of my busy life. (Happy belated birthday Mom!).
Speaking of TIFF, I went to the TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) Next Wave Film Festival last weekend. It's was a blast, and I wrote down my favourite parts just for you guys!Winking smile
First I went to the Jump Cuts: Grades 9-12 last friday, which showcases young filmmakers films in Ontario. One of my favourites was Outkast, which is a short film about 2 sisters who go to school together and clash with another new girl. They then go on to embarrass her around the school and the new girl tells one of the sisters, that she is most definitely not the strange one of the "three". It was very interesting and well done. They actually had the makers of the film in the theatre at the time, so we got to learn a bit more about them as well, which was great.
Then, there was the short, Define Me, which I found really inspiring, and a great documentary on something that I haven't really thought about. (I was really trying hard to remember the word I wanted to say, but oh well. The dictionary can't solve all your problems.Eye-rolling smile) Basically, it's a documentary about 4 people with different mental illnesses who describe how their lives are effected by this. My favourite part was at the end when a boy said, "Like I said, my name is Patrick, not _____ .(sorry, I forgot what his illness was)". It really stuck with me.

Musical News: Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend" Video

Happy May! (and happy the-summer's-finally-starting-to-kick-in time. YES!)

Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend" Music Video. What's the counter at again? 8 Million views? And it came out 2 days ago. Sheesh. Those Beliebers are quite a determined group. Anyway, first off I'd just like to say that I didn't really like the song to begin with. It's not that it's "not Justin Bieber", I mean, the kid's grown up (what is he, 18 now or something?), but to me it just isn't as good as his other songs (even though he had a really high voice back then Winking smile). The video on the other hand, was a completely different story.

Another Short Story: S.O.S.

Yello!

Ok, so after earning such good feedback from my previous short story, Destined for Blood, and since I love to write anyway, it didn't take me long to write another story. Now, before you read it, I'm not depressed, and this story is in no way autobiographical. It's simply that I was really cold the particular day that I was writing it (it's Canada after all!). Like, really, really cold. And I had gone for a walk in the woods. Don't ask why, I really don't know. I will just say, the temperature when you're right beside your house and the temperature when you're deep in the woods is quite different.
Enjoy!
S.O.S.
The Classroom. That’s where it all started. People are saddened to this day because of the following events. I urge you strongly to go pick up a happy story about little Miss Sunshine and the kingdom of fairies and to immediately stop reading this story unless you have an unusual craving for an unfortunate, miserable tale about a young girl that happens to be me. I’m assuming from this point on that you have agreed to continue reading this tale even after my efforts to save you the grief. I’m assuming that you are fully prepared for the distressing events that will happen to none other than me, Callie Richards.

Blocks of Colour Abstract Nails

Hello!

I've been hoping to get some more nail polish experiments up, but my nails have started to look all weird because of all the nail polish I've been using, so I decided to stop for a bit. To solve my nail issue, I used a China Glaze base coat, which I believe is helping. I also purchased a few top coats, one Fast Forward and one No-Chip, both from China Glaze as well. All three nail polishes were $7 each.
So, as for today, I started off with this blocks of bright colours on black type thing, and then smudged it to oblivion, making it something else entirely. I especially love the thumbs, 'cause the gold reminds me of a galaxy. I was going to take it off and try something else instead, but a lot of people said it was cool, so what the heck.

Friday the 13th Failure

Yos! (Another special word. It's like yo, but plural, hence yos.)

Last Friday the 13th, January 13th, me and my friends got together to watch a horror movie. You know, in the spirit of Friday the 13th. So, I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but a lot of DVD rental stores are going out of business because of new companies like Netflix, Rogers OnDemand and the Apple TV. You will not believe how hard it's become to rent/buy movies at the actual store nowadays. Kaylie (remember her from the Super Bass/Fly Remix?) actually ended up buying this cheap movie from Wal-Mart. Word of advice: Never buy cheap movies at Wal-Mart
Gosh, the movie was bad.
